FAQs: RDS No-Downtime Peel
What is the RDS No-Downtime Peel?
The RDS No-Downtime Peel is an advanced, modern resurfacing treatment designed to brighten, smooth, and refresh the skin without the redness or visible peeling common with traditional chemical peels.
It uses a balanced blend of TCA, kojic acid, peptides, human stem-cell–derived growth factors, and soothing botanical ingredients. This combination gently encourages cell renewal, softens the appearance of fine lines, supports even skin tone, and improves overall luminosity — all while respecting the integrity of your skin barrier.
Unlike aggressive exfoliating peels, this formula is engineered to deliver visible results with minimal irritation, making it an excellent choice for clients who want a noticeable glow without downtime.
What kind of results can I expect?
Clients usually notice a visible glow within 24–48 hours. Over the next 1–2 weeks, skin can appear noticeably smoother, softer, and more even-toned. Fine lines may look softened, texture appears refined, and overall radiance improves.
Results continue to build with a series of treatments.
Is there really no downtime?
Yes! Most clients experience little to no visible peeling. Some mild dryness or tightness is possible, but you can return to work, social events, and normal activities right away.
How does this peel support the skin barrier?
Unlike traditional exfoliating peels, RDS uses a controlled delivery system and barrier-supportive ingredients that encourage renewal without over-exfoliating. This makes it ideal for clients who want results without compromising the skin’s natural defense system — which is especially important for long-term skin health.
Who is this peel best for?
The RDS No-Downtime Peel is great for:
• Dull, lackluster skin
• Fine lines and early signs of aging
• Uneven texture
• Mild pigmentation concerns
• Clients who want visible results without redness, flaking, or social downtime
It is not recommended for clients with a compromised or actively irritated skin barrier. If your barrier needs support first, I’ll create a personalized plan to get you ready.
Who should avoid this treatment?
This peel is not ideal for:
• Anyone with an impaired or injured skin barrier
• Clients currently using prescription retinoids or strong exfoliating acids
• Those with active eczema, dermatitis, or inflamed acne
• Pregnant or breastfeeding clients (due to vitamin A derivatives)
If you’re unsure, I’ll evaluate your skin first and let you know when it’s safe to proceed.
What does the treatment feel like?
Most clients describe it as comfortable and relaxing. You may feel a warm or slightly tingly sensation as the peel activates, but it should not feel hot, painful, or irritating.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
For the best results:
• Avoid exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA), scrubs, or retinoids for 3–5 days prior
• Keep your routine simple and barrier-focused leading up to the appointment
• Avoid sunburn or excessive sun exposure
• Let me know if you’ve recently stopped using prescription topicals
You do not need to come with a bare face; I will cleanse your skin during the treatment.
What should I expect after the peel?
You may notice:
• A healthy glow
• Slight dryness or tightness for a couple of days
• Mild flaking (for some clients) around day 3–5
Your skin will feel more refined, smooth, and bright. Follow your personalized post-care kit for the first 7 days to maximize results.
Do I need special aftercare?
Yes — but it’s simple.
You’ll receive a 7-day post-treatment kit, which includes everything your skin needs to recover optimally. Follow the provided instructions and avoid exfoliation or active ingredients during this period.
When can I wear makeup again?
Most clients can wear makeup the next day if needed. I always recommend a mineral SPF and skin-friendly, non-irritating products.
How many treatments will I need?
A single treatment provides a beautiful glow.
For deeper transformation, a series of 3–6 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is ideal.
Can I combine this peel with other treatments?
In most cases, yes — but only when it aligns with your skin’s needs. LED and barrier-nourishing treatments pair beautifully after the first week.
If you’re curious about combining services like microchanneling or nano infusion, I’ll guide you based on your long-term plan and the current condition of your skin barrier.
Is the peel safe for sensitive skin?
Yes — as long as the barrier is not compromised. I will assess your skin carefully during your initial visit to ensure it’s appropriate and safe.
How much does the RDS No-Downtime Peel cost?
Each treatment is $249 and includes an LED Therapy Treatment plus your full 7-day post-care kit. A series of 3 treatments is also available for $697

I first decided to become an aesthetician for one reason:
I had bad skin. That was in 2005…
I struggled with acne, hyperpigmentation, redness and very reactive skin. I learned along the way that there is a whole lot more to having healthy skin than just buying the right moisturizer or serum. Once I started taking care of my skin from the inside as well as the outside, things really started to change for the better. The best part, is the results are sustainable, they don’t go away!
I studied over 100 different dietary theories at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2013 to become an IIN® Health Coach and in 2020 became a Certified Nutritional Aesthetics® Provider to further incorporate holistic elements into my aesthetic practice. I enjoy educating clients on all things skin and I’ve since added blogging about clean beauty and skincare as part of my professional offerings.
In my down time you’ll find me hanging out with my family and dogs, watching movies, doing crafty stuff, reading, cooking and gardening!
